AHP-1 As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the AHP1 Social Worker delivers services to patients with a complex Brain Injury, and their families, to maximise their psycho-social adjustment in order to achieve optimum independence and quality of life. This will require involvement with patients and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
The Social Worker works under close clinical supervision and demonstrates a competent level of professional knowledge and skill. With increasing experience and skill, they will independently undertake a higher level of professional practice. The Social Worker is supported to participate in quality improvement activities, projects and planning activities.
AHP-2 The Social Worker is an experienced clinician who, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, delivers social work services to patients with a complex Brain Injury to maximise their potential to achieve optimum independence and quality of life. This will require involvement with patients and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and beliefs
The Social Worker provides clinical support and guidance to less experienced Social Workers and students and contributes to education, quality improvement and planning activities. The Social Worker may assist the Principal Clinician Social Work SA BIRS, and senior Social Workers by representing the discipline in service development as requested.
