Position Overview
We are seeking a caring and motivated Disability Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals.The successful candidates will be dedicated and reliable, prioritizing the well-being and specific needs of our client.
Responsibilities
• Engage in positive conversations with the client, assist with hygiene, continence care, promoting overall wellbeing of the client.
• Assist with transporting clients using a wheelchair when necessary, ensuring their safety and comfort, medication administration, paying careful attention to any health conditions of the client.
• Supporting the client in their daily activities and community engagement, assist with dressing, assist in meal preparation, be pet-friendly, the role may require interaction and care for clients pet.
• Work well under pressure, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor in challenging situation. Keep accurate and detailed records of client progress, including epilepsy seizure management
Essential Requirements
• Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
• Certificate I - IV in Disability (preferred)
• Checks and Certificates:
• NDIS Worker Check
• DHS Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Current Manual Handling certificate
• Medication Administration certificate
• Diabetes Management certificate or relevant experience
• Other Requirements:
• Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
• Clear and effective English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience:
• Minimum of 6-12 months of prior experience in disability support
Shifts and Pay
• Availability for morning, afternoon, PM, and sleepover shifts is required.
• Competitive above-award pay rates.
• Comprehensive individualized training and orientation provided.
