Details: Canberra College is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Social Worker to support college students and ensure continuity of our college programs. Canberra College is a large Year 11 and 12 campus located in Phillip with a diverse range of students working towards obtaining their Year 12 Certificate and Employment. The college currently has 1192 students. The college offers a range of programs including but not limited to; the CCCares Program with over 100 pregnant and parenting students; the Futures Program with over 70 students with diverse needs; and our Big Picture Program with 74 students accessing their education through a highly supported, personalised learning approach. The position is located on campus and works as a pivotal part of the College team. The Social Worker Hub and support referral process is well established and is seeking a motivated person to work in the position for an initial 12 months, 5 days per week. This position is designed to be a client facing position with some administrative responsibilities.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. - To be eligible for temporary employment you must be in Australia on a visa with work rights or be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work
- Current professional registration:
- Social worker membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or eligibility for membership
- Current drivers licence essential, including access to a private vehicle for work purposes.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Previous experience working with young people, including vulnerable students and students at risk of disengaging from education and/or employment.
- Understanding of the vocational education and training sector.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
