About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Community Programs Facilitator & Community Schools Worker to provide holistic care and faith pathways for children, youth and families in the ACT North Canberra region.

This will primarily be done through primary schools, high schools, colleges, but also extends to corps-based programs and ministries. . Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (30 hours per week) position based in Gungahlin, ACT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

You will successfully Establish, develop and maintain relationships and a presence with both primary schools, high schools and colleges in the ACT North Canberra region. Provide, write or resource programs that complement the ACT School curriculum. Provide holistic outreach through the coordination and facilitation of specific needs-based programs for children and young people in education.

Develop meaningful connections and programs between local TSA expressions, schools, children, young people and families. Recruit, onboard, develop volunteers to support ongoing success of this program. Contribute to Corps ministry through the delivery and support of Corps programs with a community focus.

Develop rapport with and provide pastoral care and support to children & young people. You will have Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Registration Minimum Cert IV in Youth

Work or equivalent. ACT Driver Licence. 2+ years' experience in working with children, young people and families in both an educational and faith-based context.

Cert IV in Training and Assessment would be an advantage. Formal qualifications and experience in education or training (highly desirable). Formal qualifications pertaining to children and youth ministry and/or chaplaincy (highly desirable).

A reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of this position. The ability to form networks within the community service sector and local churches. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proven experience in mentoring, coaching and the ability to disciple others. Proven experience in developing programs, workshops and working with children, youth and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socio-economic conditions.

Knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.
