The RoleThe SOE (Standard Operating Environment) Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and deploying application packaging and deployment services across the University's end-user managed computing environment. Key responsibilities include:Managing and maintaining End User Computing SOE.Oversee regular testing and maintenance of patches and support packages for the SOE ensuring currency of SOE components on all managed devices.Maintain and support Group Policy configuration.Resolve routine, ad-hoc & complex enquiries related to SOE services.What you'll bring to this roleRelevant tertiary qualification in computing or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated experience in SOE application packaging and support, maintenance, and implementation for Windows 10, MacOS and Office 365.Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Windows family of End User Computing Operating Systems and applications.Strong experience in: Administering Active Directory and Group Policy,Enterprise deployment and management tools (i.e. SCCM),Application packaging and deployment methodologies (Microsoft AppV, MSI, Windows Installer),Software, hardware and environmental troubleshooting ability.Working knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management (ITIL) processes.Strongly desired:Experience in managing Apple Devices in an Enterprise Environment.Experience in managing Apple Devices via Microsoft Intune.Applicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
