Ask any engineer and they’ll tell you there is nothing more exciting than a clean slate. A chance to get creative with architecture and tackle open ended problems. Creating the framework for software design, you’re not just following someone else’s plan, but creating the plan for others to follow.
This is your clean slate. You’ll have a important say on the architecture for a distributed network of Connected Devices. You’ll have a big say on the design, and put your mark on the entire software stack at an established scale-up that’s been in operation over the last decade. You won't need IoT or Connected Devices experience as they’ve already a couple of IoT messaging experts in the team. All you’ll need to bring to the table is your ability to design and build scalable and high transactional web applications.
Apart from a lucrative target market with a high barrier to entry, their combined research, funding and in-house expertise sets them apart and sets them up for success.
You’ll create the framework, architecture and design for a real-time web application using modern Angular front end and Web API connected to C# .NET 8 back end.
You’ll be the subject matter expert in web applications development with a important say on architecture and design. With the application feeding into a wider system, you’ll influence the design and verification across the broader software stack.
You’ll be supported by another Senior Engineer, helping you hit your monthly release cycles, maintain quality of the build and the number of regressions.
Success in this role will lead to more than just fixing bugs iterating on your design. You’ll take more responsibility for new applications, other areas of the software stack including Cloud design, with the potential to progress into Principal or Team Lead roles.
I won’t patronise you with a long list of requirements. This is a substantial role and you’ll know if you have the depth and experience to match it. As a minimum, you’ll need to think “cloud” and have an awareness of serverless and event driven architectures. We’re not too fussed by which cloud provider you’ve deployed on (e.g. AWS, Azure or GCP), as we’re more interested in your aptitude and problem solving skills.
You’ll be Sydney based and have prior experience working with a start-up or a SME sized product development company with a dynamic work culture.
They’re flexible with their work arrangements, so you’ll spend half your time in their offices (new offices are likely to be in Chatswood or Macquarie Park).
