About the Role
Due to growth, Robway have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join their team in a testing capacity. The Software Engineer plays a key role within the engineering team and is responsible for implementing and maintaining a 61508 Test Discipline per Functional Safety and Quality standards. The Software Engineer also ensures test plans are executed and adhered to.
Responsibilities and duties
- Functional safety testing for system software, developed for lifting applications.
- Involvement in development of regression test plans and executing them.
- Software and system testing in accordance with 61508 and 13849 functional safety standards.
- Integration testing for existing and new systems being developed.
- Regular quality reviews of Engineering procedures (ie. Bugs, ECN, Projects) to ensure adherence to quality systems and continuous improvement.
- Design Failure Mode Affect Analysis (DFMEA) and Production Failure Mode Affect Analysis (PFMEA) of system.
- Adherence to 8D process for root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Updates to quality procedures as required.
Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Completed tertiary qualification, bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Formal functional safety training or software/system testing is an advantage.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid visa with permission to work.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in integration testing and regression testing.
- Experience in developing test procedures and test plans.
- Knowledge of Failure Mode Affect Analysis (FMEA) methodologies.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of 8D Problem Solving Process
- Experience in functional safety testing.
- Experience with 32-bit microcontrollers.
- C/C++ programming, preferably in an embedded environment.
- CAN bus (CAN/Open and/or J1939) familiarity.
- Ability to understand electronics schematics and familiar with testing tools.
- Automated testing, e.g. python scripting.
