Software Integration Sme

As part of our Maritime group, the Software Integration SME will provides direction and guidance in the interface between Software and Software Integration and collaborates with the Software Architect for all Saab Australia's 9LV CMS software development and integration activities.

The CMS Software Integration SME is an Australian technical leader for 9LV Next Gen CMS Software Integration. To fulfil this role, the CMS Software Integration SME shall:

• Provide technical oversight within the Software Integration Team, and collaborate with the Software Architecture Team to help ensure the:
  • Design of software modules, components and internal and external interfaces makes use of software best practices including robust design patterns and proven architecture with Software Integration activities in mind;
  • Design and implementation of system configurations to minimise ongoing maintenance and integration effort.
• Provide technical oversight within the Software Integration Team and collaborate with ACE Teams to define and enhance the automation of deployment/installation mechanisms of the 9LV CMS
• Provide technical oversight within the Software Integration Team and provide support to the Test and Evaluation Teams to define and build the automation test capability of the 9LV CMS
• Participate in plan review meetings to ensure scope, design and impacts to integration have been considered before software development begins
• Attend and support the 9LV CMS Change Control Board as appropriate
• Coach, train and mentor the Software Integration Team to disseminate knowledge about the 9LV CMS architecture and to encourage best-practices that follow the documented design rules and guidelines; and
• Identify and escalate risks and opportunities within 9LV CMS Software impacting integration activities.

Flexible work arrangements such as 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

Your skills and experience will include:

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline.
• Appropriate experience in the engineering of complex solutions across the software engineering lifecycle.
• Demonstrated software design skills.
• Demonstrated planning and technical management skills.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
• Proven ability in internal and external stakeholder management, including with the customer.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas (process or technology based) and how these relate to the system engineering process and outputs produced over the lifecycle for a system.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
