Your responsibilities will include:
The Software Engineer shall undertake specific analysis and design activities to develop, test and deliver software to meet the current phase of MARS contract.
In this role you will:
- Participate in the architecting, design, development, implementation and testing of customised software
- Perform software development of assigned tasks/ activities in: tracking, algorithm porting, GPU programming and/or hardware control, as prioritised by the LMA MARS team
- Describe formal Test procedures for end-to-end-testing to verify implemented software tasks, for review by LMA and DSTG
- Support configuration of Linux Server equipment which hosts the MARS software
- Assist DSTG in test and Integration activities including trials
- Deliver IT processes, procedures and documentation to ensure system adherence to Defence IT security policies under the supervision of the Software Lead
- Perform system administrator tasks including the creation and maintenance of ICT Infrastructure documentation under the supervision of the Software Lead
About you:
To be successful in securing this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution
- Experience with low-level programming languages (e.g. C++)
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment
- Experience with QT framework
- Experience in Digital Signal Processing
- Experience with Mathworks MATLAB software
- Well-developed application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of the JORN Radars and/or working history on JORN or a related area, such as Microwave Radar is highly desirable
- Current or re-instatable NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance
