As a Solid Plastering Apprentice, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced plasterers to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in this trade. This apprenticeship program will provide you with hands-on training and classroom instruction, enabling you to become a skilled professional in Solid Plastering.
Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced plasterers in the preparation and cleaning of surfaces before plastering.
- Learn to mix plaster materials, such as cement, sand, lime, and water, following specific ratios and instructions.
- Observe and participate in applying solid plaster and render to various surfaces, such as walls, ceilings, and facades.
- Develop an understanding of different plastering techniques and finishes, including troweling, floating, and texturing.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of plastering tools and equipment.
- Learn to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications related to plastering work.
- Follow safety guidelines and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Attend and actively participate in classroom training sessions to acquire theoretical knowledge related to Solid Plastering.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in the construction industry and a desire to pursue a career in Solid Plastering.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and take instructions from experienced plasterers.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
