What does the business unit do?
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.
EM Technology and Data is responsible for both national and state technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology business unit is responsible for delivering the following key functions:
* Strategy & Enterprise Architecture
* Investment Planning
* Support & Development
* Procurement & Program Delivery
* Vendor & Contract Management
What will the role do?
The Solution Architect is to provide security architecture leadership, including planning and governance, to enable the effective planning, implementation and use of digital technology.
The role works closely with the business at a senior level to facilitate Architecture options analysis and decisions to ensure solutions are designed to meet business security needs, project and program requirements as aligned to the Digital Strategy.
The role will also align organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall DJCs and WoVG Cyber security strategy.
What skills and knowledge should a Solution Architect (Cyber Security ICN) have?
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
* Extensive experience in Information Security and/or Cyber Security Architecture and/or Design role with a focus on security, performance and reliability.
* Experience in architecting and designing cloud-based business solutions, encompassing public (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google), private and hybrid models.
* Solid understanding of infrastructure and application development options in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and on premise.
* Solid understanding of threat and risk concepts and the ability to articulate both as part of solution design.
* Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security.
* Good working knowledge of current IT risk landscape.
* Experience in developing and implementing security risk assessment models. And performing assessment of solution designs against these models, including security impact assessments.
* Good working knowledge of at least one (1) Cyber Security Frameworks such as ASD Essential 8, PSPF, ASD – ISM, COBIT, CIS Controls, ISO/IEC 27001 and/or NIST.
* Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies.
* Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook.
* A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is highly desirable.
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager and/or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) certifications is highly desired.
