Talent International is searching for an experienced Solution Technical Lead to join our State Government client based in Brisbane CBD on a contract until December 2024 + extension options.

The role:
Play a key role in delivering a new web-based system interface to facilitate flexible, intuitive, and efficient system use and enable access via mobile devices and a new secure, consistent, flexible service layer to facilitate data sharing with government agencies. Reporting to the Solution Architect, applicants are expected to have considerable applicable experience in areas including Solution Architecture, Project Management, Integration and Technical Leadership
In this role you will:
- Provide expert advice and communicate solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues, and any resulting implications;
- Identify opportunities, and lead small teams in the rapid prototyping of technology to develop and validate technical approaches and new digital tools prior to being adopted;
- Ensure that all system functional and non-functional requirements are sufficiently detailed to allow the design of a solution that fully meets the needs and expectations of system stakeholders;
- Promote and ensure the use of best-practice tools and methods to support and justify the architectural decisions made during the solution design and specification;
- Consult, negotiate and communicate with system stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote a shared and consistent understanding and acceptance of proposed solutions;
- Manage and participate in development of small projects and proof-of-concept work;
- Develop comprehensive responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, and reports to guide the development and implementation of agency solutions;
- Develop and manage relationships with and between stakeholders, including senior program/project executives, facilitating open communication and collaborative working relationships;
- Participate in relevant design reviews and change control processes. Direct a variety of communication and engagement activities, including producing internal communication materials to support the program.
Essential Requirements:
- Considerable experience in assisting the development of complex Solution Architectures and leading their implementation for business-critical enterprise systems and integrations operating within a structured architecture framework;
- Recent experience in software development, including significant experience operating in a Technical Lead capacity, ideally in a Microsoft .Net environment;
- Experience in the design and build of custom enterprise systems using structured architectural and software development methodologies and industry proven patterns and practices;
- Experience in the design, build and implementation of software development environments and processes (e.g. Microsoft DevBox);
- Experience in acting as a Technical Leader, managing spikes and proof-of-concept exercises to validate technology and methods;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully operate within a structured environment with experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policies, and procedures;
- Solid understanding of the various software development lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid etc) with a focus on quality assurance activities and efficient development processes;
- Good knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their potential application, in addition to being open-minded and technically creative.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
- A degree level qualification in information technology or computer science is highly regarded;
- Possession of a Microsoft certifications are highly desirable;
- Solid experience in the Microsoft. Net technology environment including C#, SQL, Server, WinForms, Reporting Services, SSAS, SSIS and web services is required. Any exposure to Biztalk server and system design and analysis will also be highly regarded
