The Opportunity
Do you want to be part of the team designing, developing, producing and testing the MQ-28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)?
Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) is currently looking for Solution Architect and IT Technical Lead.
This position will provide Technical Leadership to a multidiscipline project team to expand a multi-tenanted, geographically dispersed, high-assurance network. This role, reporting to the Project Manager (MQ-28 High Assurance Networks), will be responsible for developing solution designs and for providing technical guidance and task direction to a team of Systems Administrators, Network specialists and Cyber and Product Security experts.
We would welcome applicants who want to work flexibly between home and the Brisbane Office location.
Responsibilities
- Ability to take a loose set of requirements and design a high-level Solution Architecture, refining as more information is discovered, including: relevant system artefacts, technical diagrams, detailed design documents and future-proofing design planning.
- Performing technical, business and project feasibility assessments of architecture solutions options and alternatives. Provide resolutions to any design problems.
- Working closely with the Project Manager to coordinate implementation across the project delivery team and supporting functions including Supply Chain and Security.
- Communicating with business and technical stakeholders, senior management and project team members, including running meetings and producing requirements from these engagements.
- Develop and maintain product requirements for implementation by the delivery team.
- Developing comprehensive solution design artefacts and working with the delivery team to ensure the 'as built' configuration is accurately captured.
- Act as an engaging facilitator, bringing out the best in team members of varying levels of Agile experience.
- Support teams to develop and implement sustainable methods for Backlog Refinement and task breakdown, incremental planning and delivery, and continuous process improvement.
- Maintaining the team backlog - With input from Project Manager and other stakeholders, the Solution Architect has the primary responsibility for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Strong knowledge and experience designing solutions across the following environments is highly desirable:
Network and firewall connectivity and design.
Windows Client-server systems.
Linux Client-server systems.
Storage infrastructure design
Support and maintenance of hardware/software systems.
You'll be working on products for the RAAF, so defence industry experience is a big bonus.
You will have exposure to agile development methodologies and will be an active participant in the application of our Scaled Agile approach.
The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive way is valued by our team.
Experience and qualifications in Engineering or Information Technology.
Working knowledge of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM).
An Australian Defence Security clearance up to NV1 and meet the requirements of various Export licenses in use across the Business.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
