Your new company
Our client - local government organisation are on the lookout for experienced Solution Architect. They will be responsible for the establishment and generation of Solution design documentation for the Biosciences Advanced Scientific Computing (BASC) System refresh to ensure that the infrastructure can be implemented
Your new role
Key to success in this role is excellent consultancy & stakeholder management skills, a consistent focus on the customer/ end user’s vision and a holistic understanding of how to deliver business outcomes. The role requires a commitment to building strong, collaborative and productive working relationships within the team and across a variety of stakeholders within VIC Govt.
- Develop the solution architecture documentation required for implementation in line with frameworks, processes and standards. Develop and maintain appropriately detailed architecture artefacts throughout the lifecycle of the environment, ensuring they meet the agreed quality standards and fulfil the Department’s ICT reporting needs to support effective governance and audit requirements.
- Proactively identify, assess and manage the risk associated with the implementation and/or as requested.
- Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that the BASC refresh project remains on track manage by establish and maintaining strong, collaborative and productive working relationships.
- Provide leadership and direction to the (at times, flexible and virtual) project team, capitalise on and leverage resources’ skills, foster an environment of shared success within the team and contribute to the cultivation of a strong commitment to customer focus and excellent service delivery.
- Demonstrate ownership through the proactive identification, analysis and remediation of issues that prevent project outputs or business outcomes from being met.
- Demonstrate teamwork through the flexibility and ability to willingly take on and complete responsibilities of different team roles that do not require a full-time resource for the project.
What do you need to thrive?
- Formal qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or software engineering.
- Significant ICT network experience as well as experience with computer systems, operating systems and security is required, preferably with more than 5 years.
- An understanding of Asset Management in relation to technology solutions is highly desirable.
- Solution Architecture - Proven record of solution architecture delivery for large/complex ICT projects (typically greater than 12 months, multiple external stakeholders, med-large team; budgets $1m+) such as ICT Infrastructure or eServices procurements and contracts, and has undertaken detailed evaluation, project management and the full project lifecycle experience. Proactively identifies risks and issues
- Business Analysis: Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business process, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures and organisational change. Contributes to delivery of business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through new or changed processes, and associated business risks. Identifies stakeholders, their business needs and impact of changes delivered by ICT projects.
