MDHS services the Central Goldfields and Pyrenees Shire with campuses in Avoca, Dunolly and Maryborough. Sonographer Grade 3 (or as per experience)
Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight (Part-time positions will be considered)
Classification: G3 Sonographer SO58

MDHS is seeking a sonographer (Grade 3) to join our Department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced sonographer, keen to live in a rural environment, to join a supportive Department and experience the reward of providing a service to a close-knit community. MDHS is undergoing a $100M redevelopment and the Medical Imaging Department is planning to expand available services from mid-2025, so this is an exciting time to join our team.
Participation in an on-call roster will be required after a qualifying period.
Our department is equipped to perform a wide variety of US examinations, with our Siemens Accuson S2000 units at Maryborough and Fuji Arrieta at our St Arnaud department.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications / Experience * Undergraduate or post graduate diploma, degree or equivalent qualification in Sonography that will allow registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

• Registration with Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry
• Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Excellent leadership, training and interpersonal skills
• Radiographic qualification desirable, but not essential

Specialist Expertise * Experience in the general operation of a Medical Imaging Department

• Ability to perform a wide range of Ultrasound Examinations
• Excellent understanding of current practice in Ultrasound
• Excellent ability in teaching and training
• Ability to accept responsibility and show leadership
• Ability to accept change and use it to benefit the Department
• Willing to liaise with Referring Practitioners and the community

Personal Qualities * Sound interpersonal and communication skills

• Commitment to personal and professional development
• Ability to work well as part of a team, or independently
