In Focus Radiology is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join our compassionate and patient-centered team, who will be guided by a group of highly skilled and experienced professionals. We have two Sonographer positions currently available, at both our Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley sites.

Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Perform ultrasound examinations for diagnostic purposes in line with IFR Sonographic protocols.
- Patient Care and preparation upheld through In Focus Radiology’s founding principles of Integrity, Respect and Care. Ensuring patients are comfortable, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Image interpretation and analysis of ultrasound images to identify abnormalities, or potential areas of concern, and documenting findings accurately.
- Collaboration with healthcare team, communicating effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Record keeping and maintaining detailed records of patient information, examination results, and imaging interpretations in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical standards.
- Continuing education and professional development, staying updated on advances in ultrasound technology, techniques and practices through ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Quality assurance, participating in quality assurance initiatives and activities to ensure the accuracy, reliability and consistency of ultrasound imagining services provided by the department.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Completion of an Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry accredited postgraduate degree in Medical Ultrasound (or equivalent).
- Registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience in medical ultrasound.
- Demonstrated experience as a sonographer with knowledge and development of techniques and protocols in examinations of the abdomen, superficial parts, basic musculoskeletal system, obstetrics, gynecology, and basic vascular structures.
- Possesses an approachable demeanor that is positive, enthusiastic, and friendly with a strong work ethic towards all tasks.
- Demonstrates high level communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and communicate with a diverse range of people and situations.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external consumers of our healthcare service, including patients, staff and referring practitioners.
- Demonstrates an understanding and involvement of WHS practices, policies, and procedures.
If you do not currently possess a skillset within areas such as MSK, Vascular and Paediatric ultrasound, we can support your development with our experienced training team.
