The S&OP Lead - Supply is a crucial role in the optimal planning of business performance and the centre of communications for supply settings and direction.  The S&OP Lead – Supply ensures that our MRP system settings are optimised and functioning correctly while also working directly with our site teams to address product shortages through alternate supply solutions.  The position must take leadership in driving best business outcomes regardless of BU impact and act with integrity and independence in their decision making.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Develop strategic supply plans across Stockfeed and Packaged sites to deliver:
    • Both strategic and supply planning cycles that support least cost execution
    • Asset capacity requirements (production planning) by site, including identification of process improvement initiatives & capacity upgrade requirements for capital planning
    • Supply chain network analysis to identify opportunities for reducing “total cost to supply”
  • Support accurate MRP raw materials plan to drive purchasing strategies
  • System maintenance for Stockfeed and Packaged Product items/sites
    • Maintain manufacture points – identifying least total supply chain cost for our Packaged Products division. 
    • Set inventory settings and policy (safety & targets).
    • Develop and document the factors and assumptions supporting the supply plan on a monthly basis.
    • Uploading of forecast into the ERP system
  • Monitor and communicate Supply performance for Stockfeed and Packaged Product items/sites
    • Develop performance measurement metrics including KPI reporting
    • Chair inventory review meetings within S&OP cycle
    • Review and compare site manufacturing plans with MRP output and collaborate with sites to ensure customer requirements are met
    • Identification of opportunities for inventory holding improvement and/or raw material benefit
    • Monitor and flag scheduled MRP status logs issues/delays that will impact the user experience 
  • Support development of planning elements of our S&OP framework, including:
    • Internal educator on supply planning through providing education and training to improve company-wide understanding & improved performance
  • Identify and document key learnings to drive continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics365
  • Experience in working in an MRP environment
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office products
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work with key stakeholder across functional groups
  • Able to build credibility and confidence with key system users
  • Ability to, where necessary, facilitate, be assertive and influence key cross functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, listening & interaction skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Excellent analytical, problem identification & resolution skills
  • Process oriented thinker
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Commercially oriented
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply planning or similar role (desirable)
  • Basic financial modelling/data analysis skills (desirable)
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 planning optimisation tools (desirable) 
  • Knowledge of the stockfeed industry (desirable)
