About Great River City Light Rail
Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of Light Rail stops.
The role
Supporting the Assets team this role will see you lead (assets) sourcing end to end, including procurement, inventory management, stock optimisation and supplier / contract management and ultimately ensuring the reliability and maintainability products and services. Working closely with your stakeholders you will develop an annual plan of continuous improvement that aligns with the business objectives to deliver a high performing Supply Chain. Your commitment to data integrity will drive efficiencies in the Asset Information System and support robust management of vendors / suppliers.
What you bring
In addition to your tertiary qualifications (engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline) your background will include significant end to end Sourcing and Supply Chain experience within the rail / transport industry. Given the nature of the role your high-level communications skills will drive conversations with business functions to analyse the scope of work and develop the required specification. This will be supported by your commercial acumen, leading complex negotiations to achieve business value outcomes. Experience with computer based Asset Information Systems / Purchase Order systems and the ability to make data driven decisions is critical.
