About the role
Reporting to the Sourcing Lead, the Sourcing Consultant is an influential role that sits within the Origin Procurement Team. The incumbent provides demonstrable knowledge, experience, and expertise within the Procurement & Supply Chain discipline as well as to stakeholders across all Origin business units to deliver Origin's Purpose, guided by Origin's Values.
Why the role matters
The Sourcing Consultant will use their advanced understanding of sourcing and contracting practices to influence internal and external stakeholders in executing value-adding procurement activities. Their advanced understanding of post-award contract management principles and the application thereof will form a key part of risk management and value creation strategies. In addition, this role will identify innovative approaches to find future potential suppliers who can contribute to achieving Origin's strategy. Your responsibilities will include;
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a strategic sourcing framework to support the business units and functions in value creation, implementation and sustainment.
- Executing the framework and associated processes to provide sourcing outcomes valued by the business.
- Supporting the uplift of sourcing strategy and service requests across all business units and functions to improve outcomes and value creation opportunities.
- Contributing to monthly value realisation metrics across sourcing activities completed as part of the Procurement Insight Dashboard.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to business units and functions to build effective and value-adding sourcing strategies and commercial propositions for their specific category(ies).
- Efficient and effective execution of sourcing activity to enable outcomes aligned with the business unit definition of value.
- Supporting and championing leading practice enablers to support value creation, implementation and sustainment.
About you
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience within a Procurement or Commercial team.
- Demonstrable commercial and business acumen, showing an appreciation for factors that will influence outcomes as well as an appreciation for potential risks and possible mitigants.
- Demonstrable experience negotiating large contracts and working across a broad portfolio of suppliers and services within Indirect categories.
- Outstanding supplier engagement skills.
- Excellent communication skills - written & verbal
