Playing on the idea of mixing a home with an artistic hospitality venue, Salon De Co Restaurant & Bar was inspired by the Art Deco style. Echoing the resurgence of hotel dining seen in New York and London, Salon de Co represents a fusion of modern hospitality and home-style warmth and plays on the idea of mixing a home with an artistic hospitality venue. Salon de Co draws inspiration from Art Deco style, the Années folles (crazy years), and the idea of revolutionising the world with creative flair.
This is a 7 day a week operation, a la carte busy breakfast, lunch dinner and in-room dining. We are looking for a switched-on Sous Chef who believes that the purpose of their existence is to transform a guest's experience into an inspiring journey of discovery.
A little bit about you…
As the Sous Chef, you will be assisting with the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design. It goes without saying that our food will be paramount, but not like that all too-slick, corporate blah blah experience happening elsewhere in your traditional restaurant. We have a bit of personality, a bit of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing.
- You are a hands-on Sous Chef with minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Assisting in menu planning, implementation and execution
- Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section
- Leading by example as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality assurance and standards
- Assist in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards
- Establishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all times
- You will be enjoy being on tools and bringing our creations to life
- Bring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area
- Good knowledge of WHS, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
- Your team think you're absolutely fabulous and you LOVE to train your peeps
- You work fantastically under pressure, are cucumber cool and a natural born leader who gets things done
- You love the face-to-face guest experience and LOVE getting to know your guests
