As a Special Counsel, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advice and support to clients in the banking and finance sector, including leading financial institutions, multinational corporations, and government entities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage complex banking and finance transactions, including syndicated lending, project finance, acquisition finance, and debt capital markets transactions. Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including regulatory compliance, financial restructuring, and cross-border financing arrangements.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support clients in navigating legal and regulatory challenges in the banking and finance industry. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents and agreements, including loan agreements, security documents, and financial services contracts. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external parties, including clients, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
Skills and Attributes: Minimum 10 years of experience in Corporate and Institutional Banking & finance law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm or financial institution. Demonstrated expertise in structuring and negotiating complex banking and finance transactions across various industry sectors.
Strong understanding of banking and finance regulations and industry standards, with the ability to provide strategic advice to clients on compliance issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing teams and mentoring junior lawyers.
