AddressHexagon Mining is seeking a dedicated Specialist Engineer of Functional Safety to join our team in Perth. This role offers an attractive salary of $180K p.a. plus super and the opportunity to work with a global leader in Mining Technology solutions.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting Functional Safety analysis and planning, ensuring our autonomy products comply with Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning standards. What you'll do:
As a Specialist EngineerFunctional Safety at Hexagon Mining, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our autonomy products. Your primary responsibility will be to develop Functional Safety plans that align with our product development goals. You will also be tasked with creating safety concepts, performing safety analysis, reviewing work products, and conducting audits from a Functional Safety perspective. This role requires close collaboration with both internal teams and external customers to ensure all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
- Develop Functional Safety plans for product development and work with process owners to address Functional Safety and process requirements.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure safety and regulatory requirements are met.
- Create safety concepts and related documentation.
- Perform safety analysis and metrics calculations.
- Review and approve work products from a Functional Safety perspective.
- Conduct product Functional Safety audits and assessments, supporting third-party audits and assessments.
What you bring:
The ideal Functional Safety Engineer candidate brings a wealth of experience in a Functional Safety compliant product development environment. With a minimum of five years' experience under your belt, you have been involved in various Functional Safety activities. Your background includes exposure to the development of autonomous mining systems. You're known for your ability to work productively with colleagues across different teams, lead technical activities effectively, solve problems analytically, and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Science).
- Minimum of 5 years working in a Functional Safety compliant product development environment with involvement in Functional Safety activities.
- Exposure to development of autonomous mining systems.
- Ability to work productively with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in leading technical activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as it pertains to articulating, documenting, and presenting findings and recommendations.
