An Southern NSW hospital requires a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 26/01/2024 to 31/01/2024.
GP Obstetricians or Specialist Obstetricians for O&G On-Call shifts from 0800 26/01/2024 to 0800 31/01/2024 at $3000 per 24 hours.
This hospital is a 41-bed facility with 24-hour Accident and
Emergency. The Hospital is a level 3 role maternity service with a level 2 neonatal
service. In 2020 there were 134 births to women of the Snowy Mountains statistical area of
residence. (124 births from April 22 to April 23)
The Unit itself is brand new, having opened in February 2023. There are two birthing suites,
and three other “overnight” rooms. The Emergency Department is 10 metres away. There is
an Operating Room nearby on the same floor (
We manage generally low risk births, though
women with low level complexity (mild to moderate PET, Gestational Diabetes without
insulin requirement etc) are also managed. We perform augmentation and induction of
labour beyond 37 weeks gestation. We are able to conduct VBAC, but do not induce or
augment these patients. We perform assisted deliveries (vacuum and forceps), elective and
emergency LSCS. There is an anaesthetic service.
Midwifery staff includes 2 staff on the unit at all times.
