About the Role

 

This role aims to increase integration across the project portfolio unlocking value by analyzing, identifying and delivering portfolio-level opportunities to generate economies of scale at a global level. This will materialize through stronger collaboration, improved internal/external partnerships, reduced cost, increased predictability and more efficient commercial service delivery. Align globally, work collectively and solve problems at the portfolio level.

 

The Specialist Portfolio Sourcing will identify and deliver portfolio value across BHP Projects for MinAm (including Potash) and MinAus supporting Asset Projects and Major Projects opportunities. Value will be realized in the role through a combination of cost optimisation (economies of scale), improved delivery outcomes (reliability and predictability of input materials, equipment and services), portfolio efficiency (harness collaborative value and eliminate duplicate work across project teams) and Social Value enablement.

 

Reporting to the Manager Portfolio Sourcing this position will:


•    Work directly with and across stakeholders in the PCoE, Commercial and Asset teams to identify and deliver portfolio solutions driving commercial and social value outcomes for BHP projects, with a specific focus on OEM and key equipment/materials opportunities.
•    Aggregating demand and analysing project data to maximise value for each project and the portfolio.
•    Support the identification, development and execution of external relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate and deliver improved procurement models to project teams.
•    Develop tender packages, and support activities with regards to contract negotiation, award and execution of Global Portfolio Framework Agreements.
•    Monitor overall contract performance at portfolio levels in line with contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
•    Develop material to support regional teams, in utilisation of the Global Portfolio Framework Agreements.
•    Strengthen external relationships with vendors and suppliers to jointly identify portfolio opportunities that leverages scale across projects and regions.
•    Ensure adherence to the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Global Requirement (ORs), Functional Level Requirements (FLRs) and relevant statutory obligations.

The preferred location for this role is Australia (Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide).

About You

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

 

  • 2+ years experience in global procurement, category management, project management, project commercial management or supply chain management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high standard of oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in drafting tender documentation and supporting contract sourcing activities, preferably for procurement activities.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working across regions/countries in a global or portfolio position.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across regions/cultures.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in team based environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational management skills.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to complex procurement and/or supply chain strategy execution.
