A tier 1 mining company has a requirement for a Project Specialist with Mobile Projects experience.
About the role:
To manage approved Mobile Equipment replacement and growth projects in accordance with the Operation’s Modifications & Small Projects portfolio and relevant processes, standards and performance targets for HSEC and Cost.
Duties include:
- Be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of Cost, Schedule and Progress on engineering projects
- Be responsible for the monthly update and reporting to collate and process accurate and timely accrual, forecast and status information on all Engineering projects
- Be responsible for the interrogation and verification of data within the SAP and Planview systems.
- Progress capital replacement projects from Identification to Execution in compliance with the Small Project Management Framework, Mobile Engineering Core process 6 and Investment Process Manual.
- Maintain a focus on continuous improvement to systems and processes as related to the position.
What you'll need to succeed:
Qualifications:
- Tertiary/relevant qualification in Engineering or Finance preferred
- Completion of secondary schooling
- All required site statutory competencies as referenced in the site health and safety management system and/or policy
Skills:
- A proven track record of safety management
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
- Ability to use project and portfolio management systems, including Planview.
- Ability to set and maintain standards and disciplines in collating, processing and reporting of project information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work pro-actively and with limited supervision, in line with nominated processes.
- Familiarity with the application of management accounting principles.
- Thorough working knowledge at an advanced level in the use of Excel for data analysis.
- Sound working knowledge of SAP, or at least similar systems.
- Sound understanding of Project Management principles.
Experience:
- Technical: Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in executing Engineering Modifications & Small Projects preferably in relation to Mobile Equipment and a minimum experience of between 2 and 4 years. Requires detailed knowledge of procedures related to the execution of engineering projects (5+ years of work experience preferred, including working in a project controls environment, ideally in an engineering and mining environment).
- Demonstrated skills and experience in data analysis and investigation.
- Leadership: Worked in a team and supported/guided peers and less experienced team members. Made a contribution by using his/her expertise in practical judgement to ensure optimum quality, safety and project delivery.
- Operational: Worked in an operational environment (Production / Maintenance)
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborated with a small group of internal and external stakeholders up to middle management level.
- Valid Australian C class drivers license.
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screening;
- Full Australian working rights, residing in Perth.
