CAPTIVATE is the creative and performing arts program for catholic schools in the diocese of Parramatta. It provides learning and performance opportunities for students and connects them with Australia’s leading creative arts professionals and their wealth of experience and networks. Catholic school students in the Diocese of Parramatta from Years 3 to 12 are encouraged to become a part of Captivate.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Teacher - Drama to join the CAPTIVATE team. The Specialist Teacher is responsible for promoting the importance of performing arts throughout the Diocese and the effective delivery of embedded arts learning.
This position is ongoing part-time, working Tuesday and Thursday.
More specifically you will:
Contribute to the development of creative and performing arts programs and practices in and beyond the classroom
Capacity Build primary generalist classroom teachers to:
deliver drama outcomes
deliver Drama Literacy Programs
Integrate Drama practice across all KLA areas
Work alongside Secondary Schools Drama Departments to provide support to teachers who are new to teaching, need upskilling or support.
Contribute and work collaboratively with the CAPTIVATE team in cross-genre projects
About you:
To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:
Demonstrated syllabus knowledge in primary (specialist drama), secondary or, ideally, K-12 drama.
Experience in running exhibitions, workshops and extension opportunity programs.
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively both, within the CAPTIVATE Team and also within individual school environments.
Understanding of the learning environments, programming, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.
Ability to work creatively and constructively to support diverse needs.
Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
Tertiary Qualification in Education
