coordinated and flexible approach that values the voice of all their participants.
Position Context
As a Speech Pathologist you will provide high quality, person-centred therapy
services to children, young people and adults living with disability in Bayside Peninsula Melbourne. Joining a tight knot allied health team you will sit within an experienced team of professionals encompassing speech pathology, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, counselling and therapy assistance.
Position Requirements
● Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and associated registration with Speech Pathology Australia
● A minimum three years of experience in Speech Pathology
● An ability to effectively support, mentor and lead fellow Speech Pathologists
● Preparedness to work outside normal working hours when required
● Genuine interest and passion for working with people with a disability
● A working knowledge of the NDIS, and experience in working with participants to achieve their goals in line with their NDIS plan
● Ability to manage a caseload and complete timely case notes
● A commitment to evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches
Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities
● Apply specialist knowledge to deliver a range of high-quality Speech
Pathology assessments and interventions based on participant needs
● Work collaboratively with families, carers and advocates in goal setting and monitoring
● Provision of discipline specific expertise, including clinical supervision, to staff and students
● Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders including Local Area Coordinators, NDIS Planners, Schools and other health agencies
● Attend and contribute to staff development and in-house training when appropriate
● Assess and manage risk and conflict confidently and apply sound judgment within organisational processes and policies.
● Provide high quality written reports as required to the NDIS and a
range of organisations/professionals as requested
Other relevant Information
● Must hold work rights to hold a permanent full-time position in Australia
● A current Victorian drivers’ licence, own vehicle
● Working with Children Check, Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening and evidence of Covid 19 vaccination
