The Company
This private practice based in QLD's Sunshine Coast is a well-established clinic with 6+ years multi-disciplinary experience. They assess and provide therapy across all aspects of communication including speech, writing, reading, gestures, signs and symbols, as well as supporting people who have difficulties swallowing. The services they provide are in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, homes, child care centres and at their clinic giving you options of working from different locations.
The Case-Load
The case load at this clinic is widely varied and no day will be the same, some of the many things you could be doing are;
- Work with a school-age child who doesn't understand their teachers and instructions
- Supporting someone overcome a stutter
- Rehab for severe brain injures
- Supporting stroke patients and their families involving both swallowing and speech
- Educating teachers, doctors, parents and carers on how to support those struggling
- Assistance in learning to read
- Provide resources, information, advice and direction to client, carers and other professionals
- Prepare and coordinate workshops
- Support those with neurological, sensory and physical impairments
- And much more!
The Role
In the role you would work across two clinic locations, with options for outreach and community work. You would be working in an amazing team of 50+ dedicated professionals who work across Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology. Being part of a big organisation would give you options for growth professional development and potential for future leadership and specialisation.
You will be an important member of early intervention teams, aged care teams and school therapy teams where you will strongly advocate for the best care services for each and every client.
The You
The perfect candidate would not only be in love with speech pathology and passionate about being improving communication with both children and adults, but also have;
- 5+ years' experience in speech pathology
- Bachelor degree or higher in speech pathology
- Current SPA registration
- Current QLD driver's license
- Regular access to a personal car
- Full working rights in Australia
