What you'll be doing
In consultation with the Senior Speech Pathologist in Charge to practise and promote safe, efficient and effective paediatric Speech Pathology services that reflects current standards of Speech Pathology practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. Contribute to service development by identifying, leading and evaluating quality improvement projects and providing professional supervision and support to junior staff.

THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO EXISTING INTERNAL NSW HEALTH SERVICE EMPLOYEES.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).
New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation history statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at .

- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement when required in solving problems and managing complex paediatric communication and feeding cases.
- Demonstrated high level skills in time management and organisation.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to effectively working in relevant multidisciplinary and speech pathology teams.
- Demonstrated high quality communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Current unencumbered Driver's Licence valid to drive in NSW.
