This is a generalist position working with both paediatric outpatients, and adult inpatients and outpatients. You will be providing clinical support to level 1 and level 2 Speech Pathologists on the team and assisting with the management of more complex clients. Experience in working with adults is an essential part of this role.The role is based at Queanbeyan Health Service and is part of the Monaro Speech Pathology team which also has staff based at Cooma Health Service. The Senior Allied Health Professional is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing quality speech pathology services to patients/ clients of the SNSW Local Health District in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs.Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification as a Speech Pathologist and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
- Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Extensive broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work / caseload across a regional area.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead planning and evaluation of team activities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate staff and student supervision.
- Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
