About the role
Calvary Health Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our Allied Health team in the delivery of expert care at our Lenah Valley campus. The successful incumbent will be required to manage an acute clinical caseload, covering a range of specialties including: Cardiothoracic Surgery, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, General / Colorectal surgery, Orthopaedics and General Medical.
The vacant position is a permanent 0.2-0.3 FTE, Level 3 position ideally spread across the week, commencing asap.
Your main duties will include;
To assess and treat acute care patients with physical and functional difficulties featuring interventions related to swallowing and communication.
To be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of Speech Pathology services for patients and staff at Calvary Hobart.
To recognise and act accordingly to the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care.
About you
Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology
Eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Evidence of acute hospital experience
Ability to work both independently / autonomously, and as part of a team
Flexibility and willingness to work across all areas of Calvary Hobart as required
