Today, we deliver world-class education (both to children with sensory loss and to professionals in the field), cochlear implants, allied health services, therapy, research, and clinical services to children and adults. This nationally significant social infrastructure project will be a place to nurture, trial and share new ideas and form new partnerships that will drive better outcomes for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision.Job DescriptionThe RoleNextSense has an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join our team at Armstrong Creek. This is a permanent part-time role (3 days per week), and reports directly to Area Manager. You'll make a difference in this role by:

  • providing high quality, client-centred services that assist individuals with vision and hearing loss to achieve their goals and aspirations
  • implementing best practice services for clients in clinical and educational settings
  • providing evidence-based assessment, intervention supports and other strategies to assist clients in achieving outcomes
  • delivering services in person, via telepractice, in a NextSense centre, client home, school or other appropriate setting
  • using a person/family centred framework when providing services
  • developing, delivering and evaluating Individual Support Plans and progress reports with the client, their family and relevant others

Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria.Essential:
  • Bachelor in speech pathology or equivalent
  • Practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Minimum 3 years' experience providing speech pathology services
  • Demonstrates sound clinical skills and knowledge
  • Works collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Contributes to client outcomes in a team setting
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Check
Desirable:
  • Prior experience working with clients with a sensory disability
  • Working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework
  • Willing to learn new systems, processes and frameworks
