Interview Date Range: 01/05/2024 - 08/05/2024Contact Details: Tia Croft - 0422 007 995 | Tia.Croft@health.nsw.gov.auAbout the OpportunityCampbelltown and Camden Hospital is recruiting for a Speech Pathology Head of Department (Speech Pathologist Level 5) to complement and enhance the current Speech Pathology team.This role provides the opportunity to work within a dynamic and well established Speech Pathology team. The successful candidate will provide evidence based clinical governance across two hospital sites that work as one organisation. The department’s clinical services operate across the continuum of care from neonates to geriatrics and include the specialities of special care nursery, VFSS assessments, expert cancer care and neurological interventions. The department works as part of a large healthcare organisation and as such the Head of Department needs to be able to participate in both facility and district functions to support quality and safe patient care. The position will also manage a clinical load commensurate with other duties.The Head of Department works:- locally with other facility Allied Health Heads of Department and the Facility Director of Allied Health/General Manager to enhance services, standards and quality across Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals.- across SWSLHD with the Discipline Director and other Speech Pathology Headsof Department to enhance Speech Pathology services, standards and quality across the district.Where You'll Be WorkingBe a part of a healthcare provider which is responsive to the needs of its consumers and shape the future of the community in which you live!Campbelltown Hospital is one of NSW’s newest most progressive hospitals which services the community in which you live.   • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and team performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in service management functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills (oral and written) including advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Evidence Based Practice (EBP) into service planning and evaluation.
  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
