Speech Therapist required to work 3 days per week across three schoosl with 1 day at each location: Manifold Heights Primary, Lara Lake Primary and Anakie Primary.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with students and staff
- assess the individual speech/communication needs of students as required and deliver appropriate interventions at 1:1 and in small groups
- Complete formal communication assessments for students
- Collaborate with teachers to devise and assign communication goals for students
- Collaborate with teachers to write strategies for teaching communication goals
- Record student progress notes and document evidence of student performance
- Provide information to parents
- Contribute constructively to school policy and curriculum documentation
- Assist in the development, purchasing and maintenance of resources and equipment
- Work positively with team members, school staff, students and families
- Other duties required by the principal
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Time fraction and days of work are to be negotiated.

SC1 Appropriate experience as a speech pathologist delivering a comprehensive speech pathology service to children within an educational environment, and the ability to provide specialist advice on complex speech pathology issues and program delivery.
SC2 Ability to work independently and participate effectively in a team environment and to develop collaborative working relationships.
SC3 Experience and sound knowledge of speech pathology techniques and the ability to develop, provide and evaluate a speech pathology service through individual and group programs.
SC4 Demonstrated ability to deliver professional learning, for teachers and other relevant professionals, in the area of language and communication.
SC5 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people within the education community and beyond, including families.
