Responsibilities:

• Disassemble equipment and machinery in preparation for painting.
• Clean surfaces to be painted by removing dirt, grease, rust, or other foreign matter.
• Sand surfaces using sandpaper or power sanders to ensure a smooth finish.
• Mask off areas that should not be painted using tape or other materials.
• Mix paints according to specifications provided by the painter.
• Apply primer coats as needed for proper adhesion of paint layers.
• Assist painters in applying paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
• Remove masking materials after the paint has dried completely.
• Reassemble equipment and machinery after the painting is complete.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

• Availability Mon-Thu 6 AM - 3.30 PM, Friday 6 AM - 1 PM (overtime as required)
• Previous experience as a Paint Prepper Trade Assistant or similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of painting techniques and tools used in the industry.
• Strong attention to detail, and an ability to produce high-quality workmanship under minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of WH&S in relation to painting processes.
• Strong mechanical interest and basic knowledge of hydraulic systems are essential.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
