Spray Painter

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Spray Painter to join our manufacturing team. 

As a Spray Painter, you will be responsible for applying paint coatings using spray guns, with a focus on precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both traditional manufacturing painting techniques and experience gained in auto body and panel beating environments. 

Responsibilities: 

Surface Preparation: 

• Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal adhesion of paint coatings. 
• Utilise knowledge from auto body work to address imperfections and achieve smooth surfaces. 

Colour Mixing and Matching: 

• Accurately mix and match paint colours according to product specifications and customer requirements. 
• Maintain detailed records of paint mixtures for consistency in finishes. 

Spray Painting: 

• Operate and maintain spray painting equipment with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes. 
• Adjust spray nozzles, pressure, and other settings for different products and finishes. 

Quality Control: 

• Conduct thorough visual inspections to identify and address any defects in painted surfaces. 
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with finishing standards. 

Equipment Maintenance: 

• Perform regular maintenance on spray painting equipment to ensure optimal performance. 
• Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team promptly. 

Safety and Compliance: 

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for handling paints, solvents, and other chemicals. 
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to spray painting and material disposal. 

Documentation: 

• Maintain accurate records of paint usage, colour formulas, and job completion times. 
• Document any challenges or issues encountered during the spray-painting process. 

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience as a Spray Painter in manufacturing and auto body/panel beating environments. 
• Expertise in operating and maintaining spray painting equipment. 
• In-depth knowledge of painting techniques, colour theory, and surface preparation. 
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, technical specifications, and product manuals. 
• Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality finishes. 
• Effective communication and teamwork skills. 
• Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations related to spray painting. 
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. 

Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Vocational training or certification in spray painting or a related field is a plus. 
• Proven experience as a Spray Painter in manufacturing, with additional experience in auto body and panel beating.
