Job description

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Supervisor to join our Spray Seal team based in Yatala.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead, supervise and control various projects, to agreed budgets and programs, ensuring all specifications and quality parameters are achieved, in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Site inspections and job planning, including pre-construction risk assessment
  • Participating in short- and long-term planning/programming of works
  • Co-ordinate pavement construction teams and equipment
  • Ordering sub-contractors and/or equipment as required for the works (including tippers, traffic controllers, etc)
  • Order and arrange delivery to site of raw materials required for the projects
  • Communicating the project relevant sections to the team, suppliers’ personnel and any other personnel involved with the project
  • Liaise with QLD Spray Seal Manager to ensure communication of project specific objectives, targets and programs/plans
  • Ensure Quality of workmanship to minimise rework, customer/public complaints
  • Ensure that Hazard Reporting and Risk Management is undertaken during the project works
  • Monthly Project reporting on project performance with respect to targets, objectives and programs
  • Assist inspectors of statutory authorities when on site and ensure that any direction given by that inspector is complied with
  • Responsibility for raising and/or close out of NCR’s
  • Field stock control and end of month stock takes
  • Conduct regular tool-box meetings
  • Other duties as required

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following essential skills and experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience in the asphalt or Spray Sealing industry
  • Ability to travel & live away from home when required
  • White Card
  • Current driver’s license
  • Proven organisational skills and a “can do” attitude
  • Exceptional time management and leadership skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft skills & the ability to utilise a variety of different applications
