UGL Transport – Operations are looking for a passionate & enthusiastic SQE Manager to join our team.


Job Purpose

The role of SQE Assurance Manager is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the Systems and Safety Assurance and HSQE, including transport accreditation, developing and implementing integrated safety management systems, submission of Project Plans developing cost models, risk assurance and other critical process and systems as per agreed contract program. The role extends across projects, UGL joint ventures, mobilisations, operational and tendering environments across multiple forms of public transport and requires the capability to manage multiple teams and liaise with clients and other stakeholders.


Responsibilities

Management of the Project, Operational, Mobilisation and Tendering Teams: 
Be proactive in building relationships with key stakeholders ensuring that the stakeholder interface isalways positive and proactive 
Approve, implement, and action improvement measures resulting from investigations and/or operational experience 
Manage Teams to ensure outputs delivered are to an appropriate standard on time and within the allocated budget 
Perform all duties in accordance with policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures 
Ensure that the project and operational obligations are achieved 
Lead the continuous risk management for all phases. 
Manage SQE assurance to ensure conformance with regulatory requirements 
Where required develop design review processes
Review and/or development of safety case to accept that safety risks are managed SFAIRP 
Review and endorsement of residual safety risk on behalf of GM Operations 
Development of the Integrated Management Systems 
Manage and participate in the writing of management plans 
Manage and participate in the writing of management sub plans and operating procedures 
Lead the design and implementation of the Canberra Metro Operations quality management system
Management oversight of the Rail Accreditation Process 
Ensure O&M obligations in relation to RSO and RIM accreditation is achieved in a timely manner
Ensure that the safety management system is developed and implemented 
Coordination between stakeholders 
Development of Safety Assurance Programs


Qualifications


Tertiary degree/graduate certificate in Engineering, HSQE, Science, Building, Construction or equivalent 
Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in a similar operating environment
Experience and understanding of rail safety accreditation in ACT/NSW or similar
Experience with Integrated Management Systems 
Successful management of multidisciplinary teams
