Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.About The RoleAs a Senior Director, Analyst aligned with the Technology Finance, Value & Risk Team you will help clients communicate value from their technology spend (e.g., cybersecurity, cloud, AI / digital capabilities) via their performance dashboards, KPIs and metrics. Delivering advice, and guidance to our research and advisory clients through published research, conversations with clients (Inquiry), teleconferences, and client meetings. Candidate must have excellent knowledge of IT Financial management techniques such as chargeback, cost allocation, cost optimization, financial transparency, business value of IT and IT performance dashboards. A broader experience in and understanding of, technology financials and funding beyond the immediate remit of the CIO and IT function (e.g. enterprisewide digital investments) will be of particular interest, including exposure to product and agile funding.ResponsibilitiesCreate innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content that directly addresses the priorities and challenges of clients, which includes:IT Financial management expert in techniques such as IT Budgeting, Chargeback, Cost Allocation, Performance metrics and dashboards, IT Business cases, Digital Business cases, Project controlsAdvanced IT Financial areas such as Adaptive financial governance, Product funding, Cloud financials, managing enterprise tech spending, building software intangible assets.Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area (see above) via virtual or face-to-face interactionsSupport Research and Sales: Provide sales support serving as voice of the market to help research teams create content and to drive engagement with clients to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their businessCreate and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefingsBuild credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategyBe client-centric while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly and often with Gartner research and interactionsQualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experiences; Graduate degree preferred12+ years of relevant field or industry experience, preferably worked in IT / Technology Finance DepartmentStrong grasp of financial concepts which they can apply to information technology issues in the large enterprise environmentDemonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholdersStrong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverablesDemonstrate excellence in research and writing abilityStrong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questionsProficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challengesStrong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts concisely and simplySubject matter expert comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagementsStrong business and financial acumenDeep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within subject area as well as the interplay in that marketAbility to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global teamAgile learner and adept with navigating highly matrixed environmentsAbility to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels#LI-JL1#LI-RemoteWho are we?At Gartner, Inc.
