  • Incredible opportunity to join the Westpac Institutional Banking team 

How will I help?

You will join the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) In the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division as an Associate Director as a First Line Portfolio Assurance Manager for the Structured Finance business. 

You will be client facing and accountable for the performance and delivery of ongoing customer and customer portfolio Reviews (due diligence) in accordance with Structured Finance Product Policy and APRA requirements. Review outcomes are a key input into origination and servicing capabilities across the Structured Finance Product Value Chain and risk management framework.

You will:

  • Develop review objectives, plans and scope in consultation with Product Policy, Product stakeholders and business procedures
  • Lead customer and business stakeholder engagements during the planning, fieldwork, evaluation, and reporting stages of the Review process
  • Execute fieldwork/workplans and document review findings and maintain workpapers to support findings
  • Objectively assess findings, risks and the efficacy of customer risk management processes and controls
  • develop recommendations for improvement and report/communicate findings to Product stakeholders
  • Manage and monitor reviews to required timelines, manage review allocations and periodic management reporting.
  • You will develop sector expertise, foster discussions at a strategic decision-making level while effectively engaging and building relationships with a broad range of key internal stakeholders across risk, product, business development, group segments

What do I need?

You will have proven experience in Audit, Assurance and Credit Functions in a Financial Services environment. You will have demonstratable understanding of accounting, banking laws, regulations, and internal controls, ideally in a corporate and institutional banking environment. You will utilise your strong communication and stakeholder management skills to work with our clients to achieve the required outcomes. 

Some further advantageous skills:

  • Familiarity with general accounting practices and techniques 
  • Familiarity with financial services products 
  • Tertiary qualified in a relatable field, e.g., Finance/Accounting
