The Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) team is responsible for leading the delivery of world-class data and AI capabilities to improve the financial well-being of our customers and communities. As the Staff Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring CBA continues to be a trusted leader in the Responsible use of AI. You are passionate about all things related to Data Science and Machine Learning tools, highly technical and enjoy being fully hands-on with coding in Python and R. You will be driving projects and outcomes, being heavily focused on design and implementation of models and monitoring.

We are seeking people who are:
- Passionate about building market leading modelling assets.
- Excited about tackling new challenging business problems in data science by using AI responsibly.
- Adept with using a combination of commercial and technical data science models to find unique solutions that add strategic value to the business.
- Collaborative in nature to work alongside risk and product teams, curious in solving data problems and courageous in positively influencing senior stakeholders.
- Able to think creatively and solve problems that are both operational and strategic in nature, using tools and techniques.
Tech skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know all of them.
- Solid hands-on coding using Python and R.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, building, implement and productize ML and AI models.
- Excellent data wrangling and visualisation skills.
- Exposure to Gen AI frameworks and tools will be a big plus!
