This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 56 hours per fortnight. 

Area Profile

Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) offer a Maternity Unit which provides obstetric care to women with low to moderate risk pregnancies. Women may choose to receive care at OPH for general convenience whilst receiving equally specialised care. WNHS also offer a newly established Neonatal Unit at OPH. This unit provides care to babies requiring admission to a Nursery facility, in an easily accessible location at a small suburban site. We offer a range of support services including Social Workers, Physiotherapists and Lactation Consultants.

About this role

This position is responsible for the ongoing support and assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursing and midwifery staff in Women and Newborn Health Service; plans, develops and implements clinical education and training activities for midwives; provides support for new staff including orientation\coaching and preceptorship; assists in ensuring that midwifery clinical standards are maintained, and acceptable outcomes achieved; provides clinical knowledge and expertise within the clinical areas.

This role reports to Clinical Midwife Manager, Maternity.
