The Intensivist will advise on and provide direct clinical management of patients within the Bathurst Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as part of a cohesive team of Intensivists and with appropriate patients more generally and be part of an equitable after hour’s roster. The patients may be admitted under other clinicians so a sensitive advisory and where necessary interventional approach will be needed. This care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the NSW Local Health District Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist (Intensivist) for the Intensive Care Unit.
The Intensivist will work closely with the Director of ICU and the clinical heads of the other hospital departments and will pursue networking with the District’s main referral centre, Orange Health Service, and supportive relationships with other acute hospitals within the District.

Our client (who’s facility under went a $103 million redevelopment completed in 2010) has 148 beds, a 10 bed mental health unit and a state of the art emergency department. The hospital still includes its original heritage listed building, which was also refurbished as part of the redevelopment. ?The hospital is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Health Care Standards.

The Health Service ICU is a 7 Bedded CICM accredited Intensive Care unit for regional & Foundation training with facility to admit 2 invasively Ventilated patients. CRRT facility available. Patient cohort mainly Medical & Surgical. No major trauma (Head injury) admissions. Covered by full time registrars 24 X 7 More than 70% of nursing staff is experienced trained & critical care accredited.
