We invite you to be part of this special place, to quietly pursue the extraordinary, whether it be bushwalking, mountain biking or paddock to plate dining.Who Are We Looking For?We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist - Intensivist to work as part of the Intensive Care Team at the North West Regional Hospital.The North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160 bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services.The ICU at North West Regional Hospital is an 8 bed Level 2 ICU, providing critical care services to the North West Tasmania. The general case mix of patients may include: trauma patients, sepsis and multi system failure, post-operative complications, unstable angina/AMI, cardiac failure / arrythmias and respiratory failure.This position will be attractive to highly skilled and motivated medical professionals who view challenges as opportunities and are driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems. The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of AppointmentPermanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight/as and when required commencing as soon as you are able to join the team.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
