Our clients based in Victoria are currently looking for a Staff Specialist/Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to join their team.

The Position:
Orthopaedic services at the hospital are expanding. The new service will include two Staff Specialists, two registrars and junior medical staff.
Working in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, the successful candidate will provide exceptional Specialist Orthopaedic services to MBPH patients.
Key responsibilities include providing best practice care to patients of the hospital; demonstrating and providing clinical leadership and teamwork, supervision and teaching to Doctors in Training and undergraduate medical students; participating in the on-call orthopaedic roster.

The Department/ Hospital:
The Level 1 Tertiary teaching Hospital is a new facility with 178 beds with an 8 bed ICU/HDU, including medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, emergency, intensive care and rehabilitation that service a population of approximately 80,000 people.
The hospital provides a range of acute services including emergency, maternity, intensive care, general medicine and surgery, medical imaging, pathology, dialysis, mental health (inpatient and community services and a range of ambulatory services
The Emergency Department is the regional trauma centre and is supported by excellent surgical, medical, obstetric, ICU and retrieval services. The Emergency Department receives around 35,000 presentations per annum (20% paediatric) with an admission rate of 16 – 18%.
