The role leads a team of four (including a Staffing Manager, two Staffing Specialists and a Global Mobility Specialist) to drive development and implementation of the staffing strategy, balancing short and long term priorities, integrating relevant change into the staffing function, and ensuring seamless delivery of day-to-day staffing operations for the ANZ system.

The role requires a deep understanding of management consulting, sound judgment, strong stakeholder relationship skills at all levels of the organisation, and excellent process management.

As part of our team, you will benefit from the breadth and diversity of what we are doing today and where we are headed next. We count on your authenticity, exceptional work, and strong integrity. In return we are committed to supporting you in discovering the most fulfilling career journey possible-and unlocking your potential to advance the world.BST is the operational heart of our business and is invaluable to our success. Roles such as finance, human resources, risk, and IT, help propel BCG forward. BST employees support the core of the organization and provide outstanding value to the business. As a BST member, you will work with inspiring, talented, dedicated, and curious colleagues in an energizing, fast-paced environment in which people are treated with respect and help one another to succeed. Working at BCG provides you with the opportunity to grow through interesting and challenging work and to have an active voice in your personal career development.

  • A tertiary level qualification in Human Resources or related field
  • Significant HR/People work experience, gained in a matrixed, fast-paced environment; ideally, upwards of 10+ years
  • Capability in MS Office - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Workday experience advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills; you're responsive, intuitive and demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • A desire to provide high levels of service.
  • Able to work independently while maintaining a collaborative and team orientated attitude.
  • Rigorous time management skills, high levels of attention to detail and a willingness and flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks.
  • Ensuring seamless operations of the day-to-day staffing function, including running a smooth and efficient process to identify resourcing requirements and deploy talent, taking into account both commercial needs as well as individual development needs and preferences
  • Providing leadership to the BCG ANZ staffing team, including guiding and coaching the team in their day-to-day operations, supporting problem solving and navigating escalations, as required
  • Serving as a critical thought partner to leadership on staffing and investment decisions and trade offs, grounded in a strong understanding of the broader business agenda, commercial momentum and opportunities, and taking into account capacity, utilisation and individual development needs
  • Proactively identify evolving business needs, propose solutions and seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the staffing operating model, to enhance transparency, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Shaping and driving strategic projects to address priorities that emerge, drawing on data and insights to identify challenges and work through solutions, as well as shaping and driving any global or regional projects in the BCG ANZ context
  • Prepare and present regular, transparent updates to leadership, including regular reporting on the status of staffing to enable effective short and medium term decision-making - including supply/demand, billability and utilisation (both historical and forecast), as well as satisfaction of our people (including personal development, capability building and client delivery)
  • Managing mobility (including temporary/permanent transfers in and out and project-based mobility) both to deliver on BCG's people promise and deepen capability building, as well as to manage the ebbs and flows of the business cycle via short-term staffing into and outside of Australia-New Zealand
  • Playing a key role in overall and PA-specific pyramid planning and deployment, including working closely with the People Senior Director, People Chair and System Leader to make decisions on priority capabilities to build or gaps to go after
  • Working closely with the People Chair, System Leader and Practice Area leadership to manage deployment of our most senior resources
  • Partnering with Career Development team on career pathways and mobility, with Human Resources team to manage consulting team leave approvals and individual people needs, and with the Teaming@BCG team as needed to manage any staffing actions required to support our people experience
  • Serving as the face of the Staffing & Development function to the consulting team, including in new hire orientation programs, career pathway sessions and cohort specific training sessions

BCG's HR team works to attract, develop, excite, deploy, and retain the best people in the market. Those in human resources jobs manage the life cycle of all BCG employees-from hiring top talent and developing their skills to rewarding their contributions and supporting career progression and mobility.

You'll report to the People Senior Director for Australia and New Zealand and work closely with the broader ANZ People Team (particularly Career Development, HR, L&D), the ANZ finance team, as well as the Asia Pacific and Global people teams. You will have four direct reports, including a Staffing Manager, two Staffing Specialists and a Mobility Specialist. You will work closely with our leadership team as well as our consulting team at all levels of the business, and partner closely with our broader people and finance teams as well as regional and global stakeholders.
