State CI Lead

About your new role…

We have an incredible opportunity to join our team in Hazelmere in this role of State Continuous Improvement Lead. You will relish in managing the program of projects for Continuous Improvement deliveries to the cost saving targets for the State and co-ordinate and lead the State’s Continuous Improvement Program. You will lead the CI of processes, productivity, capability and efficiency across all levels of the WA Distribution Centres and Transport. We are delighted to offer flexibility for this role in terms of part time or flexible hours to help you with your work/life balance.

What you will be doing…

  • Drive the progress of CI initiatives in line with expected commercial benefits and returns by:
    • Monitoring individual projects with Project Leads in line with recommended program governance.
    • Participating actively in the planning of the program, and in monitoring the progress of the program overall.
    • Managing the dependency of individual projects on each other to avoid any delays to project delivery.
  • Develop recovery plans in the case of unplanned setbacks in project delivery, which will impact the delivery of benefits and the target cost savings for the state.
  • Facilitate and ensure effective communication amongst all tiers of governance, that is, between State Logistics Managers and individual project leaders, and ensure that the information/directives being passed down are carried out.
  • Identify, analyse and respond to project issues and risks; determines prioritisation of these and assist in mitigating and managing these.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Operational Excellence program rollout.
  • Manage the process documentation for the site in collaboration with the functional leaders.
  • Promote change management competency as part of the Continuous Improvement program to aid in the embedding of change resulting from projects.
  • Facilitate ongoing coaching, developing, and training of team members to support state projects and initiatives.

Let’s talk about you…

  • Lean Six Sigma certification desirable and or formal qualification or certification covering change management, problem solving, Continuous Improvement and/or analytics desirable.
  • Previous Industry based Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • Successful management of improvement projects.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and independence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and sustain professional relationships, influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
