Our client is a family-owned business who have been operating for over 33 years and is one of Melbourne's leading taxi Truck and 3PL management providers. With multiple sites across Melbourne and having recently expanded across the Eastern Seaboard, they cater for a diverse range of clients from Food Manufactures to FMCG and Packaging Clients.
Having recently expanded into Brisbane we have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Operations Manager to join their team to help establish the business in QLD.
Based in Eagle Farm this unique opportunity will suit somebody who is hands on and wants to be a part of the journey from the start in QLD with a clear pathway to being the State Manager. This role will also give you the opportunity to build and grow your own team.
Reporting to the General Manager your role will include but not limited to:
- Provision of best in practice logistics operations for customer service via phone, email, and other channels to agreed customer SLA standards optimisation in a fast-paced environment.
- Timely, accurate, and relevant, analysis of new and existing scenarios delivered to scope.
- Designing, development, and production of KPIs through company software to ensure the capturing of transport data.
- Implementation of customer solutions as specified in SLA including SOP development and implementation, Ops IT integrations, commercial data capture.
- Over seeing point to point fleet operations, to achieve operational goals and timely customer service to clients.
- Work with the executive team to drive optimisation strategies to help achieve the organisations strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- To monitor and supervise incoming bookings & despatch of jobs
- Manage the fleet controllers and work with administrational staff associated to operations
- Inform the directors of escalating problems with staff or customers
- Ensure drivers’ times are collected daily and liaise with the administration department regarding any issues that arise.
- Liaise with the directors regarding the fleet’s performance
- Ensure optimum service levels are always maintained
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints
- Review existing fleet
- Assist with training new staff - when required
- Advising of ways to improve efficiency in operations and the performance of the fleet
- Managing staff and drivers - including hiring and terminations if required.
- Ensure day to day tasks are completed within NHVR guidelines
To be considered for this role your experience will include:
- Clear understanding of network and logistics management
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a managed freight solutions/logistics environment and fleet management
- Be tertiary educated in operations/logistics or other related discipline (Desired)
- Demonstrated history of strong leadership and relationship building skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Excel experience
- Operations Implementation skills
- Have a proven history of generating ideas for analysis and business improvement
- A history of following client SLA's and creating the necessary SOP to ensure consistency and integrity
- Have a high degree of customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to change manage a workforce, skills in “Change Management”
- MS Word (Inter.); Power Point (Basic), Outlook
