The Station:
Minderoo Station is located on the banks of the Ashburton Riverin the heart of the West Pilbara, WA. At only 45km from the town ofOnslow, there is close access to local town amenities. With thestation bordering the Exmouth Gulf there are some hidden WA gems onyour doorstep, along with great social events in the surroundingregion.
The Opportunity:
Harvest Road has an exciting full-time opportunity for aself-motivated and positive StationCook to join our progressive team based atMinderoo Station. This is not a FIFO role. Thekitchen is the heart of the station, where the cook has greatinfluence on a happy and cohesive staff culture. The kitchen ismodern and well appointed, surrounding by ensuited staff quartersset amongst established gardens. In addition to your salary, allaccommodation, food and WiFi is supplied.
Key responsibilities include:
- Pre-planning and cooking nutritious, hearty meals for the station team including breakfast, smoko, lunch and dinner. Also catering to station visitors as required.
- Commitment to safe working practices at all times.
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and adjoining dining/living areas.
- Preparing store orders for scheduled dates, and rotating stores to ensure no food is wasted.
- Liaise with the station butcher and gardeners to ensure all available meat cuts are utilised, and garden produce is incorporated into cooking whenever possible.
- Assist in other areas of the station as required.
- Encourage a welcoming, homely environment in the kitchen/dining for the station team and guests.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience cooking to a schedule for a group of people.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- High level of hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and able to adapt to change.
- A positive, friendly attitude with a willingness to be part of the Minderoo team and culture.
- Ability to pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment.
- Suitable fitness level to carry out required tasks.
- Willingness to work in a rural, remote area.
- Manual driver’s licence (highly desirable).
- Current first aid certificate (highly desirable).
