Union Agriculture is seeking a dedicated Station Hand to join our team in Bobbara Station, a 4,000 Ha farm located at beautiful Galong NSW. Our Station Hands play a vital role in the daily operation of our farm, contributing to both crop cultivation and livestock management. This hands-on busy position requires a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a passion for agriculture.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine care for livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health, with a focus on cattle and sheep
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
- Operate farm machinery and equipment safely, including tractors, harvesters, and equipment used in cattle and sheep management
- Assist in breeding programs for cattle and sheep, including joining and calving/lambing assistance.
- Maintain farm infrastructure and equipment, conducting minor repairs as needed.
- Implement pest and weed control measures for both crop fields and grazing areas.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on a farm is highly regarded
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to operate farm machinery safely.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Familiarity with cattle and sheep management practices is beneficial but not required.
Salary package and benefits:
- A competitive salary (60-65k) plus superannuation to be determined based on experience.
- On-farm housing provided for personal comfort and convenience.
